Elections. A new Government. New Ministries. A brand new policy awaits India Inc. And in the same breath, India waits a momentum in business investments that have been, on kind of, hold for some time now. Several industries are in the wait-and-watch mode, where their new investments are just waiting for a visibility of the new Government and their economic policy. And so is the case with the Staffing Industry. Several green field projects will get kicked off, once the economic policy is made clear. Foreign investment projects will also get kicked off soon. And both these are going to drive the big impetus for the Staffing Industry as well. And to top it, Staffing Industry Analysts names Indian staffing industry’s top 10. The industry has been estimated at Rs. 26,650 crore, wherein flexi (flexible) staffing accounts for 75 per cent and is worth Rs. 19,900 crore, permanent recruitment accounts for 12 per cent (worth Rs. 3,250 crore) and other services 13 per cent (Rs. 3,500 crore). As per the report the largest staffing companies in India, based on 2012 revenue are Adecco, which has a revenue of Rs. 1,469 crore, followed by TeamLease (Rs. 1,312 crore), Randstad (Rs. 1,161 crore), Ikya Human Capital (Rs. 910 crore) and Manpower Group (Rs. 646 crore). Others in the list include Global Innovsource Solutions (Rs. 529 crore), Genius Consultants (Rs. 330 crore), Kelly Services (Rs. 313 crore), Allegis (Rs. 175 crore) and ABC Consultants (Rs. 87 crore). On another note, ISF is working on a research project to understand the functioning of Staffing in the public sector and quasi-public sector entities. This study would help us participate in this industry and make a meaningful contribution to this industry’s growth.
